Radeberger Pilsener, brewed near Dresden, was one of the GDR’s best beers and largely earmarked for export. Had the Demons tried to wet their whistles at the Palace of the Republic, they might have been able to try one, but chances are the local pubs they drank at served (East) Berliner Kindl (photo: author).
